Start the new year on the right foot by prioritizing your health! Use this preventive care checklist to stay proactive, healthy, and prepared for whatever 2025 brings. The following medical services are covered by all Marketplace health plans and most other plans, requiring no copayment or coinsurance fees.

Annual Physical Exam

  • Schedule your annual physical with your primary care provider and discuss your health goals and any concerns for the upcoming year.

Vaccinations

  • Flu vaccine

  • COVID-19 booster

Check to see if you’re due for other vaccines like shingles, pneumonia, or tetanus.

Screenings

Schedule recommended screenings based on your age, gender, and risk factors. These may include:

  • Colonoscopy

  • Pap smear

  • Mammogram

  • Blood pressure check

  • Cholesterol test

  • Diabetes screening

  • Diet Counseling

Ask your doctor about other screenings that might be relevant for you.

Dental

Schedule your:

  • First 6-month cleaning and check-up.

  • Second 6-month cleaning and check-up.

Vision

  • Schedule your annual eye exam.

  • Order new glasses or contact lenses, if necessary.

Mental Health

Check your health plan to see if mental health services are covered. If they are:

  • Schedule a mental health check-up or therapy session with an in-network provider.

  • Bonus: Practice wellness activities like meditation or journaling.

Financial Health and Savings

  • Review your health insurance benefits, including deductibles and coverage.

  • Plan for known upcoming medical expenses to avoid surprises.

  • Look up in-network providers, including the nearest in-network ER and urgent care.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Update your medical ID bracelet, card, or cell phone with current information.

  • Ensure your family knows how to access your healthcare information if needed.
