How do I set up automatic payments?

Want to simplify your payments? Here's how to set it and forget it!

Step 1️⃣: Add a payment method

First, log in and navigate to the Settings tab.

From Settings, click or press the Add a payment method button, shown below, then choose your preferred payment method.

Eligible payment methods are bank accounts, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. If you choose to add a bank account, you will be asked to authenticate your account using Plaid. If you choose to attach a card, you will see the below screen where you can enter your card details.

Please note that bank accounts can take up to 3 business days to connect. If you would like to quicken this process, we suggest linking a bank card/credit card instead, as they're instantly available!

Step 2️⃣: Use your Paytient card

This part is the most satisfying: Go ahead and use your Paytient card toward a qualifying expense.

To use the virtual version of your card, just pull up the app on your phone, and tap Your Paytient Card. Then press Show card details and type the numbers into the credit card terminal. Make sure to double-check that the zip code either you or the provider is using matches the one shown in the Paytient app.

Step 3️⃣: Choose your payment plan

Once you have completed a transaction, you'll receive communications prompting you to choose your payment plan. You have 24 hours after each transaction to select a payment plan for that particular transaction. If no option has been chosen after 24 hours, the transaction will be split into your requested default number of payments.

To find out what your default number of payments is, go to Settings and select Repayment Settings. It will look something like this:


Step 4️⃣: Sit back and relax!

Once you’ve chosen your payment plan, all you have to do is sit back and relax. Your account is now set up to automatically deduct payments from your preferred payment method. You can see the date and amount of your next payment from the home screen of your Paytient account at any time!
